Catholic Primary School

Community & Charity

We have a deep commitment to building a sense of community at St. Wilfrid’s – a community, which recognises the dignity and worth of each individual and fosters recognition of our responsibilities to each other and the wider world.

Our children take an active part in organising extensive fundraising throughout the year for those less fortunate than ourselves. We help charities both within our community and globally.

Terracycle

The school community always respond generously to global disasters, instilling in the children responsibility for others and the importance of giving. As well as supporting the annual Poppy Appeal, and the local community via Harvest festival we support CAFOD (the Catholic Agency for Overseas Development) throughout the school year. CAFOD supports people living in poverty across the world with practical help, whatever their religion or culture.

Thank You-CAFOD

In addition to fundraising for others, our children participate in activities throughout the year to raise funds for the school.  You can find out more about these activities by speaking to the Friends of St Wilfrid's.

CAFOD Mission Together

Clothing Bank

There is a clothing bank on site, which as well as helping to divert used clothing away from landfill, also raises money for St Wilfrid's as we are paid for every kilogram donated.

The donated items are reused and worn again or converted into industrial cleaning wipes and insulation materials.

If you would like to donate any unwanted clothing or shoes our clothing bank is on site, in the entrance to the staff car park.
