Eco-Council
At St Wilfrid’s, sustainability is a shared responsibility inspired by our Catholic faith and Pope Francis’ encyclical Laudato Si’, which calls us to care for our common home. We are committed to protecting God’s creation, reducing our impact on the environment, and promoting healthy, sustainable lifestyles for all. Through pupil leadership via our Eco Council, practical action across travel, waste, water and energy use, and strong partnerships with families and the wider community, sustainability is woven into everyday school life.
Our Sustainability Action Plan sets out how we live out our faith through positive environmental action — from eco-challenges and newsletters to community initiatives and awards — empowering our children to become responsible stewards of the world God has entrusted to us.
