Catholic Primary School

Fundraising

Why support our school?

St Wilfrid's aims to be an outstanding Catholic Primary School,  giving all of our pupils the opportunity to meet and exceed their potential.

Funding for schools that comes from central government has recently decreased in real terms, so whilst we have funding for the core purpose of education there is very little remaining to improve our school facilities and curriculum equipment.

St Wilfrid's is over 60 years old - we are proud of our history and continue to ensure we future-proof and develop the school for the benefit of our families

If you would like to donate to the school as a one off donation, the process is really simple. Just click and choose the amount to donate below-

 Current Fundraising Projects

St Wilfrid's are currently fundraising for the following projects

  • Upgrade to the building in Key Stage 1 to extend classrooms and create a new inclusion room as well as better access to outdoor spaces.
  • New outdoor play equipment in Key Stage 1.
  • Curriculum equipment
  • Library renovation
  • Upgrades to school swimming pool

Swimming Pool

Why do we need to fundraise?

Our annual operating costs are funded through central government and this covers our core purpose, but our building and facilities need to be maintained.

We are fortunate to have our own swimming pool on site and offer lessons to our pupils as well as lessons to other local schools.

We must invest in our buildings and technology to continue to enrich the curriculum, we have to look for additional outside sources to help, for example, letting the school facilities out during the evenings, weekends and the holidays whenever possible.

Additional fundraising enables us to make improvements to our school, and provide opportunities for our students, that would not be possible otherwise.

Regular Donations

We would like to thank all families that contribute to the school on a regular basis;

The donations have funded;

  • Solar Panels
  • Swimming pool changing rooms upgrade
  • Upkeep and running of the swimming pool
  • Roofing
  • Electrical Upgrades
  • Toilet refits
  • LED lighting upgrade
  • Playground/swimming pool fencing

Regular donations make a lasting impact on our school and our pupils.

If you are able to support the school by making a regular financial contribution please contact the school office

Thank you for your continued support.

Community Fundraising

We have been fortunate to have local business such as Steve Willis Training Centre supporting our swimming pool. We welcome working with local business and the wider community to support our school.

Friends of St Wilfrid's

Our thriving PTFA (Parent, Teacher, Friends Association), The Friends of St Wilfrid's School Association (or FOSW for short) works closely with the school to organise fundraising and social events, for both pupils and their families, throughout the school year.

The Friends of St Wilfrid’s is a registered charity (charity number 800913) and run by volunteers.

They welcome help from anyone within our school community.

Hardship Fund

We have a payment option for anyone that wants to donate to the school in order to help families in financial crisis. Monies donated towards this hardship fund and used to contribute to the cost of trips and events in school for families that are struggling.

You can donate to the hardship fund via Parentmail.

Volunteering

Many parents and carers and other family members would prefer to donate time instead of funds.

If you feel that you could support us in some way, please contact us via office@stwilfridsbh.org.uk

Thank you for your support.
