School Lunches
School lunches for pupils attending St Wilfrid’s Catholic Primary School are provided by Go! Catering. With use of a local, dedicated industrial kitchen, Go! Catering provide lunches that are freshly prepared and cooked on daily basis.
Producing over 500,000 children’s meals across the last 9 years has helped the Go! Catering team to gain a clear understanding of children’s and parents’ expectations when it comes to providing high quality, healthy school lunches.
What makes up a school lunch?
A substantial and healthy main meal (such as a roast dinner, pasta bolognaise or curry dish), with access to fresh salad items as a complement. This is followed by a daily dessert (such as flapjack, cake or mousse).
Every child registered for school lunches will receive a meal based on their individual dietary requirements (including allergies or intolerances) with a vegetarian alternative provided daily.
How much do school lunches cost?
For children in Key Stage 1 (Reception, Year 1 & Year 2) – school lunches are entirely free of charge, due to funding via the government’s Universal Infant Free School Meals (UIFSM) scheme.
For children in Key Stage 2 (Years 3 to 6) – school lunches can be paid for directly to Go Catering. Alternatively, you may qualify for Free School Meals. Please find out more information here
