Headteacher's Welcome

I’d like to welcome you to St Wilfrid's Catholic Primary School. I hope you find our website informative and useful in helping you gain some insight into who we are and what we are about at St Wilfrid’s School.

St Wilfrid's is a two form entry Catholic Primary School in the diocese of Arundel and Brighton. Our Catholic faith is at the heart of our school life. Pupils will tell you what matters in our school is:

OUR FAITH, OUR LEARNING AND EACH OTHER.

This mantra underpins all that we do and along with our six learning values drive us forward to be the best that we can be.

In our school every person is valued for who they are.

At St Wilfrid's Catholic Primary School we are ambitious. We want to instil in our pupils a sense of drive and purpose to become the best that they can be, making the most of their unique gifts and talents. By doing this they will be better able to serve others, achieve and flourish and come to 'live life to the full'.

We want our pupils to want success in the widest sense so that they never settle for second best and so that they become the people that God has intended them to be. We believe in aspiration.

In order to achieve this we set ourselves high standards in all things and never settle for second best. For all of us here at St Wilfrid’s we strive to do our very best. We celebrate our achievements and support each other in our endeavours.

At our school we place the person of Jesus Christ at the centre all we do and because of this we value individuality and diversity and recognise the preciousness of every individual. However, we also value the joy of working and learning in a Community that is strengthened by common values and expectations and that strives to serve God through service towards others. At our school we recognise that each one of us has a special part to play in creating a better world and building up God’s Kingdom here on Earth.

We do not shy away from challenges and we work to ensure that pupils at St Wilfrid’s learn that resilience or grit is what is needed to be successful and fulfilled in life along with our other learning values of ambition, collaboration, independence, creativity, and appreciation.

If you feel that this school sounds like the right place for your child then we’d love to meet you and tell you more. Please arrange a visit. I look forward to meeting you!
